SATURDAY, 6TH NOVEMBER 2010

Sensus Health Club will be hosting its 4th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on this day.

The organiser of this event is looking for 10 volunteers (preferably male students as female students are encouraged to participate in the walk) to assist with the manning of water stations on the route.

Volunteers would be required to meet at Palm Grove Park at 2:00pm on the day.

SUNDAY, 7TH NOVEMBER 2010

The Charter Yacht Society are looking for 10 volunteers to assist in the following ways at their  upcoming "Crews Walk for Cancer":

1) Manning a registration table, as well as a refreshments table set up by Delta Petroleum;
2) Leading the walkers on the route.


Volunteers will be required to be at Village Cay at 6am to begin by 6:30am.

SATURDAY, 6TH NOVEMBER 2010

The Charter Yacht Society is looking for5 volunteers, aged 16 or above, to assist with a function at the Governor's residence from 6:00pm - 10:00pm on this date.

Volunteers will be required to carry trays of hors d'oeuvres to 200 invited guests, as well as ensure that guests are welcomed.

4TH - 7TH NOVEMBER 2010

The Charter Yacht Society of the B.V.I is looking for 5 volunteers to assist at their Green Yacht Show at the following times:

4th November (Thursday):       3:30 - 5:30
5th November (Friday):              3:30 - 5:30
6th November (Saturday):        9:30 - 12:30   or  1:30 - 4:30
7th November (Sunday):            9:30 - 12:30   or  1:30 - 4:30

Volunteers will be assisting with promoting their green initiative by collecting separated trash from boats, recycling trash in different receptacles, and helping with their "green table".


This is a great event for students who wish to become involved with "green" energies and technologies on island, or become more involved the yachting community on Tortola.

FRIDAY, 29TH OCTOBER 2010

Ms. Jaeda is looking for 10 volunteers to help prepare items for the Halloween Costume Party.

This will take place from 3:15 - 5:00 at Cedar International School and is a quick way to gain some Community and Service hours.

All interested students may apply online or  speak to either Mrs. Jones or Ms. Jaeda.

FRIDAY, 22ND OCTOBER 2010

The Royal B.V.I Yacht Club will be holding a club-clean up day from 10am.

There are numerous service opportunities available, and all the help received will be greatly appreciated.


Students interested in this activity may apply online; however, given the late notice of this event, students may go and assist on the day, have the self-reflection form signed, and apply upon their return to school on Monday, 25th October.

A simple, enjoyable service opportunity is available at Cedar International School on this date from 3:15 - 5:30.

Ms. Clark (True) requires two students to look after some children after school. You will be sitting with them in one of the classrooms, watching a film.

THROUGHOUT THE MONTH OF OCTOBER

The BVI Tourism Board will be hosting a Community Project called "Clean Sweep" throughout the month of October. The aim of this project is to clean up Tortola and the surrounding islands.

The Tourism board are looking for volunteers to assist at each of these events. Students may participate in as many as they like.
