How do I apply for an activity online?
Click on the "Apply for activity" icon on the CISCAS homepage.

Why do I have to apply for an activity?
Your CISCAS coordinator needs to know what activity or project you wish to undertake.
This is so that they can guide you in case you have chosen something that is not in line with the I.B requirements

How often are opportunities posted online?
Opportunities are posted as they are received by the CISCAS coordinator. This is usually every week.
How can I earn extra credits for activities?
You can earn extra credits by:
- Demonstrating a sound commitment to an activity (i.e: Always being on time, Attending all sessions, Dedicating yourself to your project)
- Showing your ability to be a leader by taking initiative in activities, working well with others and setting a good example
- "Going above and beyond" in your activity (i.e: Doing more than is required of you to ensure the success of that activity or project)
- Finding opportunities for your peers in the community

Who rewards the extra credits?
You can be recommended for extra credit by the following people:
1) Your activity leader or supervisor (Your leader can e-mail or phone Mrs. Jones, outlining why you should receive extra credit)
2) Your homeroom teacher (Your homeroom teacher may e-mail Mrs. Jones requesting additional credit based on your performance)
3) The CISCAS coordinator (Based on your CISCAS record, the coordinator can reward extra credit to those who involve themselves actively in CISCAS)
4) Yourself! (You can e-mail a rationale to Mrs. Jones, outlining why you think you deserve extra credit for an activity) See below for more details.

I can request extra credit?! How do I do this?
Should you feel that you have met one or more of the criteria for extra credit, you may e-mail or write to Mrs. Jones. Your request should be in the form of a formal letter and provide the following details:
1) The number of credits your project is currently worth;
2) Two reasons you feel you should earn extra credit (This must be supported with clear examples and should link to the goals mentioned above);
3) If possible, a motivation from a peer or adult who has knowledge of your involvement.

How do I complete my reflection after my activity?
Collect a printed reflection from either Mrs. Jones room or your Homeroom teacher. You have also received the reflection via e-mail and can download one from this website.

Where do I get my activity leader to sign to confirm my attendance?
Your leader must sign the "supervisor" box at the bottom of the reflection sheet.
I have photographs from my activity. Should I throw them away?
Absolutely not! You may include these in your individual reflection (simply insert them into the document), or e-mail them through to Mrs. Jones for the CISCAS photo album.
Can I do the same activity all year round for CISCAS?
You should try to involve yourself in at least two different activities throughout the year. Remember, the more initiative you show, the more credit you earn!
